Terms of Service

The rules for using WakeSurf: bookings, payment, cancellations, and who is responsible for what.

Draft prepared 6 August 2026. Not reviewed by a lawyer.

1. Who these terms are between

WakeSurf is operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], registration number [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. In this text, we and us mean that company, and you mean anyone using the site.

By creating an account or making a booking you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the platform.

2. What WakeSurf is, and what it is not

WakeSurf is a marketplace. We publish wakesurf spots, clubs, coaches and events, and we take bookings and payment for them.

The session itself is delivered by the club or the coach, not by us. They own the boat, they set the price, the schedule and the conditions on the water, and they are responsible for how the session is run, for their licences and for their insurance. Where we act, we act as the point of sale and as the operator of the platform.

3. Your account

You need an account to book. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, give accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You can ask us to close your account at any time; bookings already paid for are settled under the cancellation rules below.

4. Booking a session

You can book a club on its own, or a club together with a coach. A session with no coach is a boat and slot booking; a session with a coach adds coaching to it.

  • Instant slots are confirmed as soon as payment succeeds.
  • Request slots go to the club or coach first. They accept or decline, and only after they accept do you receive a payment link.
  • While you are paying, the slot is reserved for you for a short window, currently around 35 minutes. If payment has not completed by then the booking is cancelled automatically and the slot goes back on sale.
  • A checkout link expires 30 minutes after it is created. If yours expires, start the booking again.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are set by the club or the coach and shown in their currency before you pay. Payment is taken through Stripe Checkout.

Depending on the slot you either pay the full price or a deposit percentage set by the provider, with the balance settled with the club directly. Your card is charged at checkout. There is no separate platform booking fee at the time of writing; if one is introduced it will be shown before you pay, and this section will say so.

6. Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel a booking free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts. Inside that window the booking is not automatically refundable.

A coach may require more notice than the platform does, never less. The window that applies to your booking is the one shown on the booking itself.

Refunds are returned to the card that paid, through Stripe. Banks typically take five to ten working days to show the money. If an automatic refund fails, the cancellation still stands and a support ticket is raised so the refund can be made by hand.

7. If a session cannot go ahead

Weather, water conditions and equipment failures are part of the sport, and a club may have to move or call off a session. Contact the club or coach, or open a support request, and we will help sort out a new time or a refund.

The platform-wide rule for weather cancellations, late arrival and no-shows has not been settled yet: [NO-SHOW AND WEATHER POLICY]. Until it is, these cases are handled individually with the club or coach.

8. Safety and your own responsibility

Wakesurfing is a water sport with real physical risk. You are expected to be in a fit state to ride, to declare relevant health conditions and your swimming ability to the club or coach, and to follow the crew's instructions and any local rule on the water.

The full safety, health declaration and assumption of risk wording has to be drafted with an adviser and with the clubs, and is deliberately not invented here.

9. Clubs, coaches and event organisers

If you list on WakeSurf, you confirm that your listing is accurate, that you hold the licences, permits, qualifications and insurance the law requires where you operate, and that you honour bookings you have accepted at the price shown. We can review, edit, unpublish or remove a listing, and suspend an account that breaks these terms.

10. Payouts

Money is collected by the platform and passed on to the club or coach. Payouts are made by bank transfer to the payout details in your dashboard; there is no automatic card payout at the time of writing.

The payout schedule, minimum amount and any deductions must be agreed and stated here: [PAYOUT SCHEDULE].

11. Reviews and content you post

You keep ownership of what you write and upload, and you give us permission to display it on the platform. Reviews are moderated before they appear, and we remove content that is false, abusive, unlawful or not your own. Write about your own experience.

12. Availability of the platform

The service is provided as it is. Features are added, changed and removed as the product develops, and no uptime is guaranteed here. Some parts, such as AI assistance, are subject to usage limits.

13. Liability

The limits of our liability, and how they interact with the responsibilities the club or coach carries for the session itself, are a legal decision and are not drafted here: [LIABILITY POSITION]. Nothing in the final version will exclude liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Suspension and termination

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the platform or harms other users. You can stop using the platform at any time.

15. Changes to these terms

These terms will change, in particular once they have been reviewed. The date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site.

16. Governing law and disputes

The governing law and the courts that settle disputes are still to be set: [JURISDICTION]. Consumer protection rules in your own country of residence apply regardless of what is chosen here.

17. Contact

Use the contact page, or write to [CONTACT EMAIL].
