How does booking a wakesurf session work?

Accepted Answer

Find a spot on the map or in the spots list, open it, and pick a date and a free time slot. Add a coach if the club offers coaching. You can browse the whole site without an account, but you need one to book.

Depending on the slot, the booking is either confirmed straight away once you have paid, or sent to the club or coach as a request. You can follow the status of every booking under My bookings.

Question 2

Can I book a club without a coach?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A club-only booking gives you the boat and the time on the water without coaching, which is what experienced riders usually want.

A club plus coach booking adds a coach for that session. Choose it if you are learning, want to fix something specific, or are riding a new setup. Coaching is priced by the coach and is shown separately before you pay.

Question 3

How do I pay, and when is my card charged?

Payment goes through Stripe Checkout. You enter your card on Stripe's page, not on ours, and your card is charged at that moment. There is no authorisation hold that is captured later.

Some slots are sold with a deposit instead of the full price. Where a club or coach has set one, you pay that percentage now and settle the rest with the club.

How long is my slot held while I pay?

The slot is reserved for you while you complete checkout, currently about 35 minutes. If the payment has not gone through by then the booking is cancelled automatically and the slot is released for someone else.

The checkout link itself expires 30 minutes after it is created. If yours has expired, simply start the booking again.

What does it mean when a booking has to be approved?

Clubs and coaches can offer a slot either as instant booking or as a request. A request is not confirmed by you paying: it goes to the club or coach first.

When they accept, you receive a payment link, and the booking is confirmed once you pay. If they decline, nothing is charged.

Question 6

Can I cancel a booking and get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you cancel at least 24 hours before the session starts. Inside that window the booking is no longer automatically refundable, because the boat and the coach's time are already committed.

Some coaches ask for more notice than the platform's default, never less. The window that applies is shown on your booking, so check it there.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. Banks usually take five to ten working days to show the money. If an automatic refund does not go through, the cancellation still stands and our team completes the refund by hand.

Question 7

Is there a booking fee on top of the price?

Accepted Answer

No. The price at checkout is the price the club or coach set, in their currency. WakeSurf does not add a separate booking fee to it today, and if that ever changes it will be shown before you pay.

Question 8

What can a coach see about me?

Accepted Answer

Only what is useful for setting up your session: your name, the language you prefer, your riding level, how long you have been wakesurfing, your preferred styles, your height and weight, whether you have your own board and its brand, size and type, your training notes, and any note you added to the booking.

A coach does not see your email address, your phone number, your date of birth or your country. That limit is enforced by the database query, not just hidden in the interface.

Why does the profile ask for my height, weight and date of birth?

Height and weight change the wave. A driver uses them to set ballast, speed and board choice, so filling them in means less time experimenting on your first run. They are shared with the coach for exactly that reason.

Date of birth is used for age related rules and is not shared with coaches. Every one of these fields is optional.

What languages does WakeSurf work in?

Accepted Answer

The site is available in English, Latvian and Russian, and you switch language from the top of any page.

The language your coach speaks is a separate thing: coaches list their own languages on their profile, and you can filter coaches by language before you book.

Question 11

Do I need my own board and equipment?

Accepted Answer

No. Most clubs have boards on the boat, and beginners normally ride the club's equipment.

If you do bring your own, note it in your profile along with the brand, size and type. Your coach sees it and can plan around it. Equipment varies between clubs, so ask the club if a specific board matters to you.

Can I message the coach before or after a session?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Riders and coaches can exchange messages on the platform once there is a booking between them, which is the place to agree meeting points or ask about conditions.

It is a message thread, not a live chat: there are no attachments, no read receipts beyond a simple read marker, and messages cannot be edited or deleted once sent.

Will I get a confirmation?

Accepted Answer

Your booking always appears under My bookings with its current status, and you get a notification inside the platform when it is requested, confirmed, paid or cancelled. That page is the source of truth.

The platform also sends email for those events where the operator has switched email on. If you do not receive an email, check My bookings before assuming anything went wrong.

Question 14

How do I list my club or become a coach on WakeSurf?

Accepted Answer

Clubs and boat owners start on the list your spot page, coaches on the become a coach page, and businesses that want a wider partnership on the become a partner page.

Every submission is reviewed by the team before it is published, so a listing does not appear on the map immediately. Once you are live you manage your own availability, prices and bookings from your dashboard.

Question 15

How do clubs and coaches get paid?

Accepted Answer

The platform collects payment from the rider and passes the money on to the club or the coach. Your earnings are shown in your dashboard as bookings are completed.

Payouts are made by bank transfer to the payout details you enter, which are stored masked and are visible only to you and to platform administrators. There is no automatic card payout, so the payout schedule is agreed with the WakeSurf team.
