Cookie Policy

1. The short version

WakeSurf sets a small number of cookies that are needed to sign you in and to bring you back to the right page, plus two entries in your browser's own storage that remember your language and your AI planner conversation.

A cookie consent banner is shown on your first visit. Non-essential cookies (for example analytics) are only set if you agree to them there.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

• Sign-in session cookies, set by Supabase, our authentication provider. They hold your session so you stay signed in, they cannot be read by JavaScript in the page, and their names begin with sb- followed by the project identifier. They are removed when you sign out.
• ws_oauth_redirect: a short-lived cookie that remembers which page you came from when you sign in with an external provider, so you land back where you started.

3. Storage in your browser

These are not cookies and are never sent to our servers. They stay on your device.

• wsm.lang, in local storage: the interface language you picked with the language switcher.
• An AI planner conversation identifier, in session storage: lets your trip planning conversation survive a page reload. It is cleared when you close the tab.

4. What we do not use

There are no advertising or remarketing pixels, no social network trackers and no cross-site profiling on this site. Analytics may run only with your consent.

We ask for your consent through the cookie banner before any non-essential cookie is set. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer, and this page will be updated when our use of cookies changes.

Club pages keep a simple visit count so the club can see whether its page is being found. It works without cookies: a hash of your network address and browser that changes every day is used to count you once, cannot be reversed, and is kept only as a number.

5. Cookies set by other companies

Some parts of the experience are served by other companies, which apply their own cookie policies.

• Stripe, when you are sent to its checkout pages to pay, and for fraud prevention.
• Mapbox, which serves the map tiles and search.
• Google, if you are a coach and you choose to connect a Google Calendar.

6. How long they last, and how to control them

Session cookies disappear when the browser session ends; the sign-in cookies last until they expire or you sign out. The exact lifetimes are set by the providers above. Any personal data behind them is kept for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as the law requires (for example, accounting rules require transaction records to be kept for several years).

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site storage in its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and from booking.

7. Changes

This page is updated whenever the site's cookies or storage change. The date at the top shows the current version.
