About Sidewake
Sidewake is a wake & surf academy in Portugal built by riders for riders – and it all started with a very simple “no more” in 2015. That was the year Roberts Linavskis, already an experienced wake athlete, coach and school owner in his home country of Latvia, moved to Portugal to create a completely new standard of wakeboard academy.

At Sidewake, the boat has never been “just the boat” – it’s the heart of everything we do. Before the Covid pandemic we were running four boats and a big, high-volume operation, but even then the rule was the same: no shortcuts, no tired rentals, no “good enough for lessons” setups. Guests always rode behind top-of-the-line wake machines, the same level of gear the pros use.
